Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

He rescued four early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
